End of the year is when we all tend to take stock of everything – our lives, careers, studies, fitness goals. Time also to look around your house and take stock of all the stuff you’ve accumulated during the year. If you don’t clear some of that out, where will you put the stuff you’re going to buy in the new year, right?
Jokes aside, this might be a good time to do some decluttering in the house and better organise your spaces. Even if you aren’t throwing Christmas or New Year parties, your future self will thank you for the freshness in the house.
Put some money into getting yourself some storage options. Large boxes that can be stowed away under the cot, smaller ones that fit into the topmost (and rarely used) shelves, small desk organisers that can contain the clutter of your work desk. Get yourself one of those colourful seats that have storage inside them – it would be ideal to dump things into, while doubling up as a seat in the corner.
Once you are done clearing the clutter, bring a spot of freshness in with a potted plant and some candles. You’re now ready to ring in the new year!
